WELCOME TO YOUR
Nest Rest
Using your Lodge
You have a front and a back ‘door’ that can be unzipped and rolled up. The entire front of the Lodge can also be turned up in three parts. The bathroom, living room and master bedroom.
-
Always start this process standing inside of the Lodge
Remove canvas pieces from the vertical poles
Unzip the canvas
With one person at each end, lift the metal bar off the bracket below the floor at each end of section
Carefully roll up canvas over metal bar towards you (into the Lodge)
Use the clips at the top to secure
-
Using two people, carefully unclip the canvas whilst holding onto the roll **Metal bar inside, do not drop**
Slowly unroll canvas until you reach the floor
Put circular ends of metal bar into bracket
Close zips
-
In the Master and Twin bedrooms, as well as the bathroom, there are plastic windows that can be rolled up from outside the Lodge to let air in.
These windows have a mosquito net covering them to stop the creepy crawliesfrom getting in!
Please make sure these are closed during heavy rain.
-
You will find your BBQ in the large outdoor storage box at the back of your Lodge along with some ‘light the bag’ charcoal.
If you require more please let us know. We sell extra charcoal at £4 a bag.
-
In the unlikely event of a fire there is a fire extinguisher and fire blanket in the kitchen to the right of the log burner.
Never leave the log burner door to the fire compartment open.
Always close the log burner down completely before you leave the Lodge or go to sleep.
Other Bits and Bobs in your Lodge
You may find the following things useful during your stay
TWO RING ELECTRIC HOB
In the kitchen cupboard for a quick snack, or if it’s too hot outside to light the stove! Keep an eye on these as they have a tendency to smoke. Always use a heatproof mat.
LAUNDRY DETERGENT & CLOTHES DRYING RACK
If you would like to do some laundry there is some liquid underneath the
kitchen sink and you will find a wooden drying rack under the bed in the master bedroom.
CLEANING PRODUCTS
Should you need anything, all the cleaning products are under the kitchen sink, along with spare bin bags, and a dustpan and brush.
FIRST AID KIT
You will find a first aid kit under the
kitchen sink.

Using the Log Burner
The log burning stove is a hob, oven and central heating all in one! The hob takes about 5 minutes to heat up and the oven about 15 mins. Please read the instructions on how to operate the log burner carefully.
-
Do not close the lid until the hob is cold.
Do not leave anything drying on, or too near, the stove as this poses a huge fire risk.
-
You will find a starter box next to the stove.
When you need more there is a supply in the outdoor storage box at the back of your Lodge.
There is also a larger log storage area on the sunken path as you come in from the car park. Please help yourself!
-
Open the top left compartment and you will find the firelighter and kindling ready assembled.
Light the firelighter and wait for a few minutes until the kindling is properly alight.
Add a couple of the larger logs, close the door and you’re off! Keep topping up with logs as you need them. (See heat control info below).
To remake your fire, use one firelighter with a small handful (6-8 pieces) of kindling stacked on top and follow from Step 2 onwards.
-
There is a small black lever below the left hand door which controls airflow to the fire.
Push in to allow more air (creating a larger fire), and pull out to reduce air flow.
To turn it off: Close all the vents completely.
-
The silver lever (just below the bar) on the top right of the burner controls whether you are using the oven or hob mode.
Push in for hob and pull out for oven.
-
You have an ash bucket and ash spade for emptying your burner.
Please see this page from HETAS on how to use a Glamping Log Burning Stove.
